The Seneca Creek Bag

The Seneca Creek Bag was the May bag for the Bag of the Month Club.  This bag was designed by Betz White and will be available as a single pattern purchase on her page starting July.  This unique little bag can be used multiple ways.  Without a strap it is a clutch and with the adjustable strap it is a crossbody bag or get this..a waistpack.  This is the modern name for a fanny pack and don't laugh, they are becoming popular again. I had some fabric that I had been itching to use and I paired it with a faux leather that I had been viewing for some time.  The price had come down on the faux leather and it was the perfect time to grab it.  It was meant to be.

The front of the bag has a cute envelope style pocket and the tab in the front is supposed to have a metal ring on it but I had this vintage belt loop that I thought looked great and that is what I went with.  The bag measures 7-1/2" H, 10-1/2" W and 1-1/2" D.

The back of the bags shows off the teal colored poppies.  (I know poppies are red but I wish they came in these colors!)

I used a turquoise and teal cotton for the lining.  The inside of the pouch has a zippered pocket.

OK, I have the April bag to complete.  I have started it but am awaiting an order of hardware.  I should still be able to complete it before the end of the month when the Bag of the Month Club ends for 2015.

    1. Thanks. I had been lusting after this faux leather for awhile and then it ended up in JoAnn's red tag fabric and red tags were 50% off. It had to come home with me.

  4. I put this bag on Pinterest because of the envelope pocket in front. Love it. And who's to say that poppies don't come in turquoise?
