I got another order from the customer who loves lighthouses. She saw the blog on my Campfire Messenger Bag and really liked it and so wanted it in lighthouse fabric. This is a bag from the Bag of the Month Club by Anna Graham of Noodlehead. I love her patterns. She does mostly totes but she hit a home run with this bag.
The pattern calls for straps with snaps to hold the flap closed but I love the look with thumb latch closures. One day I will make this bag as written.
Under the flap is a zipper pocket and two large, pleated slip pockets.
The back of the bag has a large slip pocket. I love the look of the binding trim on this bag.
The inside has two more slip pockets. The bag closes with a recessed zipper. To see my other Campfire Messenger Bag and complete review, go here.
You are amazing Marilyn !!!
ReplyDeleteDo you ever sleep ?? LOL
Its nice to see the bag in one fabric, i never realized it would look so good with a print !
Fabulous !
I'm sure I sleep just as much as you do. It is just that I sew everyday for many hours a day. It is so relaxing to me. Plus this was an order....more fabric money!
DeleteI really like this one. The fabric is wonderful and brings finds memories of coastal visits over the 25+ years we lived in western NC.
DeleteI still have both Feb and Mar to do. I have a lovely floral denim that I might pull out to use for this one. I really like the tongue locks idea, but I need to order some.

Thanks, Judith. I do love the March bag and I think it would look gorgeous in a floral denim.
DeleteI wasn't sure about this bag when it was released but after seeing yours I love it. That fabric is gorgeous and love the thumb latches, much better than the snaps.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the thumb latches, too. Put them on a second bag that I made, too.
DeleteI love that bag, but I love the lighthouse fabric even more! Could you tell me where to find it?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I have made a lot of bags with that fabric and they have all ended up going to one customer that just loves lighthouses. I got the fabric at JoAnn's in the novelty fabric.
DeleteGreat job with this. I have a friend who loves lighthouses....this would be a great gift for her. Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteAll of the light house bags I have made have gone to one customer! I got the fabric at JoAnn's if that helps.
DeleteThanks. The only Joann's I can shop at is online... nearest to me otherwise is about 100 miles. :( They don't seem to have that exact lighthouse fabric at the Joann's website.
