Norwalk Fabric Outlet, A True Treasure

Last week, the sun was shining, the snow wasn't falling, and I had the need for a road trip.  I knew exactly where I wanted to go.  I knew because I had been there twice before.  So, my hubby and I got in the car and drove an hour and forty-five minutes to Norwalk Fabric Outlet.

This outlet is a fun, friendly place to treasure hunt.  If you can read the sign on the front of the building, you see that all fabrics here are $6 a yard.  They specialize in upholstery, drapery and vinyls but also have some quilting fabrics.  Tomorrow, I'll show you all that I bought...too many pictures for one post!

The outlet has some larger rooms of rolls of fabric but there are also nooks and crannies that you need to check out , too.

Yes, those dotted fabrics are part of my haul.

They also have some precut fabrics in different lengths.  This is where you need to check all of the extra rooms in the outlet.

I didn't even show you the quilting area and the vinyl area or the front room.  How fun is this place???

Thanks to the great folks at Norwalk Fabric Outlet for all of the help.  What a friendly group of people.  Bev, the owner, Traci and Joey were so helpful.  My apologies to Joey who had to get all of the rolls off of the top shelves for me.  I really made him work.  Here he is cutting some of my vinyl.

If you live in the Northern Ohio area or are here for a visit, check them out.  You won't be disappointed.  You can find them at 124 East Main St, Norwalk, OH 44857.  They are open W,Th, F 10 - 5:30 and Sat 9 - 2.  Visit them at www.norwalkfabricoutlet.com or on facebook.

If you have any treasures like this in your neck of the woods, I sure would love to hear about them.  You never know how far I'm willing to travel.  Tomorrow, I'll show you my treasures....

  1. What fun! I'm looking forward to seeing what you bought! If you have any tips for shopping in a place like that, please do share. :)

This place is about 4 hours from me--not too bad! Probably 2+ hours from my inlaws. It would be fun to visit there sometime.

    1. My best advice is to give yourself plenty of time and not to be afraid to ask for what you are looking for. It is amazing that they know where everything is. The first time I was there, I bought a fabric that I loved. They had a big roll of it. I didn't get back for a year and I hoped they would have some left. No such luck. They told me that If I would have called them, they would have shipped more to me. Keep that in mind.

    1. I would sign up for that fabric hunt. You know I always bring fabric home from anywhere I visit but I love finding these kind of places where the hunt is just as fun as the fabric you bring home.

  3. I'm just a winter scaredy cat from Oregon but Ohio is now on my list of places to visit. Nothing like a fabric vacation.

  4. Wow Marilyn that's fabric overload!!! I wouldn't even know where to begin. I usually look at sale fabrics first because of the lower price, but if it's all $6 yd, then it would be hard not to walk out with a cut of everything!!! LOL!!! Too dangerous of a place to be in for me, so glad I don't live near there.

    1. It is almost 2 hours away so close enough to get to but not close enough to go all of the time!
